Who We Serve

Peak American works with the people navigating the most financially critical season of their lives, those approaching retirement and those already in it.

Real relationships. Smart technology. Here when you need us most.

Peak American

The People We Serve

The clients who hire Peak American come to us from different starting points, but they tend to share a similar story: a lifetime of hard work, real wealth built through discipline and good decisions, and a growing sense that the next chapter deserves a partner who actually understands what it takes to make it count.
Most of our clients fall into one of three groups:

The Executive Approaching Retirement

You’re five to ten years from retirement, in your peak earning years, and aware that the decisions you make now will shape the next thirty years of your life. Your compensation is complex: RSUs, deferred comp, and an executive bonus structure that looks nothing like a regular paycheck. You’ve done well, and you want to make sure what you’ve built carries you through retirement with the lifestyle you’ve earned.

The Pre-Retired or Recently Retired Couple

You and your spouse are either close to crossing the finish line or have just crossed it. The retirement you spent decades imagining is finally close enough to plan for in real detail, not in averages and assumptions. You want a partner who can sit at the table with both of you, answer the questions you’ve not asked yet, and help you build a plan that actually fits the life you want to live.

The Investor Ready for Something Better

You’ve worked with a financial advisor before, sometimes for many years. The relationship was fine when life was simpler, but as the questions got harder, the advice didn’t keep up. Maybe the firm is too big to give you real attention. Maybe you simply outgrew the relationship. You’re not unhappy with money; you’re unhappy with how it’s being handled. You’re looking for a real financial partner.

What Our Clients Have in Common

The people Peak American works with come from different industries, different communities, and different starting points. But the clients who thrive in our relationships tend to share a few things in common.

  • They’ve built something worth protecting. Our clients are typically high-net-worth families who spent decades building careers, businesses, and investments, and now want a partner who treats what they’ve built with the same intention they used to create it.
  • They want a real relationship, not a transaction. Peak American clients are people who actually want to know their advisor, who value the kind of partnership that grows over decades, not the kind that turns over every few years at a bigger firm.
  • They take retirement seriously. Our clients understand that the years approaching and entering retirement are the most consequential of their financial lives. They’re looking for a team that takes your most financially critical season as seriously as they do.
  • They appreciate honesty over salesmanship. Peak American clients are tired of advisors who lead with products. They want honest planning, transparent advice, and someone who will tell them what they need to hear, not just what they want to hear.

Who We May Not Be the Right Fit For

We’re not for everyone. And that is by design. Peak American has built deep expertise in the specific season our clients face, and that means there are some situations where we are honestly not the right partner.

  • Active traders looking for execution. If you’re looking for a platform to trade frequently or want an advisor who picks individual stocks for short-term plays, we’re not the right firm. Our work is built around long-term planning and disciplined investing.
  • Investors at the very start of their wealth journey. Our planning approach is designed for families who have already accumulated meaningful assets and are focused on the years approaching or entering retirement. If you’re early in your career and just beginning to invest, you’d likely benefit more from a firm that specializes in that stage.
  • Anyone looking for the lowest possible fee. If your primary decision criteria is finding the lowest-cost option, an online platform or robo-advisor will serve you better than we will. The value we deliver is in personalized planning and integrated advice, not in being the cheapest line item on your statement.

Being honest about who we are not built for is part of being honest about who we are. If any of the above describes you, we want to save you the time of a consultation that wouldn’t lead anywhere productive and we are happy to point you toward firms that may serve you better.

Why We Focus This Way

Most financial firms try to be everything to everyone. Peak American doesn’t.
We are intentionally boutique, smaller by design, because it allows us to spend more time listening, more time planning, and more time understanding what truly matters to each client. When you call our office, you speak with our team, not a call center. Your advisor knows your name, your family, and your story.

That kind of relationship is not possible at scale. The bigger a firm gets, the harder it becomes for any one client to be more than an account number. We chose a different path. We grow carefully, take on the clients we are genuinely built to serve, and decline the ones we are not. It’s the only way we know how to deliver the experience our clients have earned.

Anyone can manage an account. Peak American strives to be something more, a trusted financial partner who knows you personally, understands what matters most to you, and helps you move forward with confidence. That is the difference between having money invested somewhere and having a team invested in you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do I need to invest with Peak American?

Our planning approach is designed for families with $500,000 or more in assets under management who are approaching retirement or already in it. If you’re unsure whether your situation fits, the best starting point is a conversation. We’re happy to share an honest perspective

Most of our clients are in their late fifties through late sixties, the years where the decisions you make have the biggest long-term impact on your retirement. We also work with clients on either side of that range when their situation fits our approach.
It’s more straightforward than most people expect. Most conversations begin with a complimentary review of your existing plan. We never pressure anyone to make a change before they are ready, and we are happy to share an honest perspective even if we are not the right fit.
No. While our offices are in North Texas, we work with clients across the country. Many of our relationships are conducted virtually, with in-person meetings as preferred. What matters is the relationship, not the zip code.
Your first conversation with us is complimentary and carries no obligation. We will talk about where you are, where you want to be, and whether our approach genuinely fits your situation. If we are not the right partner, we will tell you and point you toward someone who might be.

The Season We Know Best

Retirement is not a single decision. It’s dozens of decisions, made over years, with consequences that can ripple for decades.

When to claim Social Security. How to draw down a portfolio without running out. Which accounts to pull from, and in what order. How to manage taxes when the income that used to come from a paycheck now comes from your own savings. How to plan for healthcare before Medicare kicks in, and after. How to protect what you’ve built for the people you love.

These are the questions Peak American was built to answer. By focusing on the years approaching retirement and the years living in it, we have developed deep expertise in exactly the challenges our clients face. We know this season. We know what keeps people up at night. And we know how to help.
